About Us
Scotlightdirect.co.uk is a trading division of Scotlight Commercial Lighting Ltd. You can find out more about us at our company website www.scotlight.co.uk.
Buying from us
We accept orders through our website, by phone on 01896 830421 and in our showroom. For web and phone orders, we accept all major credit and debit cards. For security reasons, once your payment has been processed we do not store your credit card details either electronically or on paper.
Back orders
If the item you order from our website is not in stock, we will notify you either by phone or email and will give you the option to either cancel your order or wait until the goods are back in stock.
Warranty
All products with the exception of lamps (light bulbs) carry a 1 year guarantee. In the event of a fault occurring the product will be repaired or replaced according to the nature of the fault. The warranty applies to electrical components only and is void if deemed that the fitting has been incorrectly fitted or suffered abuse in a manner not intended for the purpose supplied.
Installation
A qualified electrician must install all products supplied. Incorrect installation will void your products 1 year guarantee and may pose a danger to you and others. Liability will not be accepted for any personal damages such as electrocution due to improper installation.

Prices and VAT
Prices shown on this site include VAT, where and to the extent that VAT is required to be applied to the product under UK VAT law. Delivery charges are extra.
Although we make every effort to ensure the prices on the website are correct, mistakes may sometimes be made. If we discover a mistake in the price of the products you have ordered prior to their dispatch, we will tell you and give you the option of either reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling your order. If we are unable to contact you or we receive no reply from you we will cancel your order.
Scotlightdirect.co.uk reserve the right to change prices listed without notice. All orders for products are subject to availability and Scotlightdirect.co.uk reserves the right to refuse to supply to any individual or company.

Privacy Policy
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Scotlight Direct will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully
(in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).
We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly,
to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service. We will not e-mail you in
the future unless you have given us your consent. We will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email
from us and we do NOT share any of your personal information with other companies.

You have the option to subscribe to our email newsletter at point of checkout. If you leave the check box selected you will receive occasional email promotions from Scotlight Direct. We do not share your data with any other organisations.
You have the right to revoke this consent at any time. If you do not wish to receive Scotlight Direct newsletters you opted into during checkout, you can click the unsubscribe link on any newsletter sent to you to be immediately removed from our mailing list.
We do not store any of your financial details. We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. The information we hold will
be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies
we will delete or correct it promptly. The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our
internal security policy and the law.

Returns Policy
We operate an extended 28-day peace of mind returns policy for all products on our website. The following terms and conditions apply to all refunds.
You must inform us in writing, by fax: 01896 831086, or email: sales@scotlightdirect.co.uk, within 28 days, starting the day after delivery/receipt of your order (the date of delivery will be recorded by our carriers) that you wish to return goods that are undamaged. If you have any damages, faults or shortages you must report this within 7 working days as required under the Distance Selling Regulations of 2000 (This period starts on the day after the day on which the goods were received). Scotlight Direct cannot accept responsibility after this period.
Under the Distance Selling Regulations, customers have a duty of care while the goods are in their possession and we request all goods are returned with their original packaging, complete with all other associated components sent with them i.e. lamps.
Goods should not have been installed, modified or used in any way and should be in an undamaged condition.
For unwanted items the customer is responsible for any return carriage. The total order amount, including the original delivery cost, are refunded if the goods are cancelled within the 28 day returns period.
Scotlight Direct will in no way be liable for any costs incurred due to faulty goods or shortages such as electricians fees, time taken from place of employment etc.
We have the right to refuse refunds for failure to meet the above criteria
