If you live in an older property, usually built before or during the 1960s, there is a chance that your property won’t be earthed.
This means that, when installing lighting, you will either need to completely rewire your house or, instead, you can use double insulated lighting to protect both you and your property.
Although rewiring may be a sensible, long-term solution, double insulated lighting may be a cheaper option and will cut down on a considerable amount of upheaval and electrical work in the short-term.
What is double insulated lighting?
Double insulated lighting is specially designed for properties that aren’t earthed. They usually have two layers of protective, insulating material which cover the live parts of the fitting (eg the cables), providing protection against the possibility of electric shocks.
Where can I buy double double insulated lighting?
Scotlight Direct stock a wide range of double insulated lighting for all locations in your property, be it ceiling lights, wall lights, floor and table lamps or bathroom lights.
