Established in 1996, Scotlight results from over 30 years of experience in the commercial and Ecommerce lighting industry. We are Experts in Lighting, having started as a lighting design company and later expanding into the supply of domestic and commercial lighting products through our trusted brand network. In August 2006, we launched the Scotlight Direct website. In addition, we moved the business to focus solely on online, an e-commerce lighting-focused platform that focuses solely on bringing the best lighting designs to our online customers.

We are proud to be part of SM Electrical Supplies LTD, established in 1988 by Steven MacDonald and operates electrical wholesalers throughout Scotland, and remains a family company with over 30 current employees.

Our current group of employees ranges from retired, qualified, and trained SELECT electricians to staff who have worked in the lighting industry for over 15 years.

We do not store any customer payment details on our systems and only store minimal details such as email addresses and phone numbers. However, regarding our minimal customer data, we still take it seriously and leverage our partnership with Big Commerce to ensure customer data is stored on their cloud infrastructure, ISO/IEC 27001:2013 & PCI DSS 3.2, Level 1 certified.
Fast, Reliable Delivery
We pride ourselves on fast and reliable delivery, and we use DPD for all our parcels, allowing you to track your order online through the DPD website. Most of the products on our website are delivered within 1-5 working days, and our standard delivery charge is only £6.95. For orders over £99, delivery to the UK mainland is free! Rest assured that all our fittings are well packed to avoid any damage during transit.

Hassle-free Returns Policy
While we do our best to provide accurate descriptions and clear images on our website, sometimes a product arrives, and it’s just different from what you expected. At Scotlight Direct, we understand you might need to pick the right product the first time, and we try to make our returns process as easy as possible. If, for whatever reason, you do not like the product we have sent you, let us know in writing within 28 days. Once the goods are back, we will refund your order in full within two working days of receiving the return, including any delivery charges for sending out your order! The only thing you pay for is getting the goods back to us. If your order has arrived damaged, please notify our customer service team within 14 days of receiving your order with pictures, and we will organise a replacement or full refund.

Product Warranty Policies
At Scotlight Direct, our suppliers and we provide a minimum 12-month electrical warranty on all our products. On top of this, our LED warranties range from 3-5 years, depending on the product and the manufacturer. You can find the individual product warranty information on each product page or contact our customer service team, who can confirm any warranty questions you may have.

Our Green Policy
At Scotlight Direct, we are committed to being a greener company. Our green policy has two main parts: energy consumption and packaging. We use energy-saving light bulbs where possible throughout our showroom, offices, and dispatch area. These simple steps mean we consume far less energy, change light bulbs less often, and recycle any energy-saving light bulbs which eventually fail. Because we ship large volumes of items through our internet site, we use a lot of packaging per month. To reduce waste and operate more efficiently, we recycle all the packaging and boxes that items from our suppliers arrive in. In addition to this, we have also approached other businesses to recycle packaging that would otherwise be thrown out.
